Miracles and Trust

Tonight is the fourth candle night of Hanukah and also first candle week of Advent. It’s not surprising that both spiritual celebrations center around candle lighting. Night falls so early during these winter holidays, candles just bring cheer into the room. Each year I look for common ground between the seemingly separate and distinct religious customs. This year similarities are forefront in my mind in slightly new ways. Both Hanukah and Advent center around events that involved some sort of miracle and the element of trust.
